It turns back to Tang period when we talk about cultural exchange between China and Japan. In Japan, it was defined as a settled system that run Japan according to Buddhist religion, and then Japan sent Japanese envoy to China in the Tang Dynasty. While Japan had been inviting religious people such as Jianzhen, Japan sent Kuhkai(空海)、Saicho(最澄) which became a pillar of Buddhism to Tang. The exchange was an incredible surge and had great dealings which led to Japan having many kinds of industrial things. After over 1000 and hundred years exchange made Japan open to the world in the end of 19 century, namely it led to the opening of ports in Yokohama, Nagasaki, and following Kobe in 1868. Ethnic Chinese who came to Japan from Shanghai said industrial business to Japan after opening ports. Then they made a traditional China Town, where was near the Decent Chinese settlement, which gave various influences to Japanese association. Before and after 20 century, Japanese original modern models won empathy of Asian countries in the great western power, and then a number of decent Chinese visited from Ching. Their population of working, studying, and settling was getting bigger. Finally, the population became over 30,000. About 1 out of 4 of them had lived in Kobe, however, some of them, Ethnic Chinese such as Gokindo(呉錦堂), showed up and invested rising business as in Japanese industries. They participated in charities and brought ponds for irrigation under cultivation for local peasants while they supported modernization of China; Revolution enterprise which have Sun Wen 's sights on; with The well-informed person of Japanese in each field. The great achievement tied to social reliance and improvement in status. In these 100 years, we saw a boom that was from foreigners of studying abroad in Japan. And after China's reform policy of opening up to the outside world, Chinese pioneered living places in the world. As a result, new and old Ethnic Chinese population is almost 60,000 people at the center of Kanto bloc in this small Japan. Especially 10 years ago, when we had the Hanshin-Awaji big earthquake disaster, we can remember so easily what Ethnic Chinese outstanding works as a leader of multicultural togetherness society for the process of emergency restoration. Because of that, they had huge recognition from communities and societies. In such underground, some studious Ethnic and decent Chinese who has expert knowledge encouraged own businesses and they have been giving new economic vitality constantly to Japan. They have full of enthusiasm for contribution to not only Asian Region including Japan but also entire world as Ethnic Chinese Residing in Japan. Now, all attentions are there toward “The 9th world Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention.”

What’s Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Japan?

What’s Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Japan; it is an economic organization which was established on the 9th of September, 1999. It was made by the people old and new Ethnic Chinese, decent Chinese and Chinese capital different background Chinese residing of corporation in Japan got together. (Old Ethnic Chinese is the people who have lived, before settled China's reform policy of opening up to the outside world. New Ethnic Chinese came to Japan after 1980’s.)
Until this organization showed up, there was no Ethnic and Decent Chinese Economic Organization in Japan. Since about 20 years ago; since China's reform policy of opening up to the outside world as a national policy, many young Chinese and students have come to Japan, and they have learned advanced technologies and new economics. After that, some of them have showed up as executive officers who could be support or advance Japanese industries, and they expand into new businesses. On the other hand, willing Chinese companies which expand their businesses overseas came to Japan following Chinese economic development. For example, we would mention some names, COSCO; one of the biggest shipping firm companies, or HOKASHOJI CO.,LTD (宝華商事).; has background whose name is Shanghai Baosteel Co., Ltd.(宝山製鉄). And now, Chinese representative banks opened their offices and/or their branches in Japan. These movements helped to integration rapidly with economics between China and Japan and it contributed both countries’ relationship of economics. Under this background, Old Ethnic Chinese’s, New Ethnic Chinese’s companies cooperate with volunteers of Chinese companies as equal partners and spread out the information to join us, finally, Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Japan was established by that.
This organization offers management seminars, economic forum, and so on to our members. Through such movements, we have exchanged economic organizations and industries in Japan, China, and overseas. Nowadays, the member of companies are over 220, which means this is the only one nationwide and the biggest Ethnic Chinese and Decent Chinese economic organization in Japan. Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Japan, we wish we will take the part to make bigger friendships, economic relationship, and development while following its growth between China and Japan. That is our purpose.
