Mr. Wu Rujun’s Concert; ASIAN BREEZE; ‘Sounds of Spring’ The Chinese Year 2007 in JAPAN

Mr. Wu Rujun is the foremost expert on ‘Jing Hu’ which has been a famous Chinese musical instrument since Qing period in China. ‘Jing Hu’was completed as a musical instrument with formulation of the basic grounds for a classic Chinese pantomime at that time. Mr. Wu Rujun is also a well known a classic Chinese pantomime actor. The collaboration which Mr. Wu Rujun and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra which has the oldest history in Japan will create magnificent and fantastic sounds, and the sounds must be attracted people.

Mr. Wu Rujun　Profile

He was born in 1963, Nanjing, China. He graduated from The Academy of Chinese Opera with top honor and then he belonged to China National Peking Opera Company.
He established ‘Jing Hu light music’ to be based ‘Jing Hu’, and he received Chinese
Cultural Affairs Department best firm prize.
He became the foremost expert as an ‘Jing Hu’ artist in reality and in name in China. Beside, he started to create and appearance in films energetically and then he was recognized as an actor and a producer. He took a role; Yang-gui-fei on the New Beijing Opera ‘Yang-gui-fei and Nakamaro Abe,’ and his beautiful singing voice was called ‘Voice of Gold’ that created sensation as ‘revival of actor of female roles in 21 centuries.’
He received the 17th anniversary The Japan Gold Disc Award 2003; the 30th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China Special Award.
In 2005, he joined the music part of NHK's latest period drama "Yoshitsune" and also he played on the 19th JAL music stage of Tofukuji. He won raves for his role.
February in 2007, he was invited and played in the U.N. Headquarters in New York. He keeps working toward the world through culture of ‘ambassador of love and peace’ as a Chinese culture leader.

TOKYO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The orchestra with a proud history is the oldest one and was established in 1991.
April in 2001, it was the first orchestra which has functional capability both symphony orchestra and theater orchestra with over 160 musicians. At the same time, Mr. Chung Myung-Whun assumed a special artistic advisor. The issue got huge attention and expectation from various quarters that let it make the next leap forward.
The orchestra held regular concerts as Independent performance at Bunkamura Orchard Hall, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, and Suntory Hall. And it played opera ballet music as a regular orchestra at New National Theater Tokyo. ‘New Year Opera Concert,’ ‘ageless song albums‘were also played by the orchestra. It has been working on the other broadcasting plays and having concerts overseas energetically with high quality music. Recently, November 2005, the orchestra played with Mr. Chung Myung-Whun as a conductor in ‘Friendship tour for the future of Japan, China and Korea’ which is a part of the biggest event in China; China Shanghai International Arts Festival. It had played in 5 cities in Korea including Seoul as a main event of ‘2005 as a friendship year between Japan and South Korea.’ The concert was praised sky-high and was given the impression that the playing made on all areas as ‘one of the first class orchestras in the world.’
The orchestra has made a franchise contract with Bunkamura Orchard Hall since1989.
In addition, the orchestra has been doing cultural exchange creatively and educationally.
And it formed business partnerships with each area; Bunkyo-ku Tokyo prefecture, Chiba-city Chiba prefecture, Izawa-cho Karuizawa Nagano prefecture.
